Two days to face clock-in
How The Board Game Cafe in Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad, put every shift’s attendance on the ECCS app.

Before ECCS
Attendance at the cafe was kept in a register, and each month’s pay was worked out by hand from it. The cafe runs a 10-hour shift with a team of seven, so a missed entry or a late clock-out meant a question at the end of the month about who had worked how long.
What the cafe set up
- Face clock-in, at the cafe. Each person checks in with their face on the app at the start and the end of the shift. The app records the time and a photo, and takes it only at the cafe.
- The cafe’s own shift. The owner set a 10-hour full day and a half day of 5 hours, and the app works out every day from them.
- One screen for the day. The manager sees who is in, who has left and how long each has worked.
- Pay from the same days. The salary tracker works out what each person is owed for the month as the days are recorded.
- Licences in one place. The FSSAI licence and the pest control papers are on file, with the days left on each and a reminder before one runs out.
The first nine days
Every day since 22 October has its clock-ins by face, and six of the team clock in with their face. The app has worked out 46 staff days from them: 41 present, 1 half day and 4 weekly offs.
Every clock-in and clock-out since 27 October has been by face, with nothing entered by hand. The month’s pay builds up from the same days, ready for the end of October.
“Our staff clock in with their face on the app, and it tells us who came, for how long and what we owe them. It was running in two days.”
